Personal Information

My research interests fit broadly within the field of Artificial Intelligence and Affective Computing with a special interest in assistive technology and brain-computer interfaces. My previous work has focused on designing interactive software systems to support people with disabilities in our country in the fields of education and communication, as well as rehabilitation and therapy programs. Indeed, I believe that people with disabilities require special attention from designers and developers of technologies, as recent advances offer significant opportunities for people with special needs to overcome their disabilities. I am passionate about promoting the advances of assistive technology for the benefit of people with disabilities, particularly Arabic-speaking populations that generally have inadequate support and services and need assistive technologies designed with their language and cultural contexts in mind.
