ur project aims to provide an assistive technology for autistic children to help them meet some of the basic daily needs through creating a way of communication between them and their caregivers. The technology idea boils down to producing a wearable bracelet through which the child can communicate with the primary care provider to meet her/his needs smoothly and quickly.
Since the beginning of the project, Ahmed has been our main co-designer. Due to his severe and rare case, the project idea was broadened to target autistic children. Accordingly, the team is currently seeking new co-designers. As guided by our mentor, we will contact new co-designers after preparing our new research method, which is a diary study. We will contact co-designers that will be part of the diary study, and later will be aiding the team in testing the prototype.
